Happy New Year
Happy New Year! May the next year be a blessed one. Keep you loved ones close and at heart in the next year. My goals are to try to simplify my life. No more running around like a crazy mom. We all do it. We sign up for one too many activities, work too much, and just feel exhausted. My goal is to get rid of the excess and concentrate on what is important. Stuff is stuff and people are what matter.
Next Goal: Take more time out for my marriage. We get so caught up in the day to day. It is hard to take the time for ourselves.
Next goal: Get in shape. I know it is the cliche goal, but really it is my goal. My youngest is now 6, yes 6! I never lost the "baby weight" after the birth of all three of my kids. It is about time I did. I need to feel like me again. I will keep you updated. Do you have any tips for me?
Next goal: Put the kids first. This is my top priority! The is a yearly goal for myself and my husband. They are fantastic children because we have always put them first in our decisions. I am not sure how this will all work out, esp. given my current work situation.
While I am very fortunate to be able to work at home through a local company, they particapte in something called shift bids. (It has been know to be called something else by others, but I will leave that for another day.) Basically, every 2-3 months they take your life and turn it upside down. You get a work shift based on a bid. So for instance, I was working 6-10 AM (perfect hours for a mom). Now, they have me scheduled for a shift from 2-6PM........ Uh, really? Not exactly ideal when you have small children to do this every 2-3 months. As a mom of three elementary age kids, two of which are on IEP's with their local school for dyslexia, this cannot work. In my goals, kids are first. How is this making my kids first? Who is going to encourage them and help them grow educationally and spiritually if I am not working when they are in school and working when they are?
Suggestions and comments are welcome. Happy New Year!
